Determine Your Billing Provider
Before you start the cancellation process, you need to identify who bills you for the service. ABCmouse is sold directly and through several app stores. ABCmouse support agents cannot manage or cancel subscriptions purchased through third parties on your behalf.
To find your billing provider, use these methods:
- Check your email receipts: Search your inbox for "ABCmouse" to find your purchase history. The sender of the receipt, such as Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Age of Learning, is your billing provider.
- Look at your bank statements: Charges from "Age of Learning" mean you are billed directly. Charges from "Apple Bill," "Google Play," or "Amazon" indicate third-party billing.
- Check account settings: Log into the ABCmouse website, open your profile, and check the billing source listed under your account settings.
Once you identify your billing provider, use the links below to jump directly to the correct step-by-step instructions:
- Age of Learning (Direct Billing)
- Apple App Store (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)
- Google Play Store (Android devices)
- Amazon Appstore (Kindle Fire or Amazon account)
- ABCmouse Classic (Direct Billing)
Cancel Direct Billing (Through the ABCmouse Website or App)

Cancel ABCmouse on Apple Devices (App Store)
If you signed up on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, your subscription is managed by Apple. You must use Apple's built-in settings to stop recurring billing.

Cancel ABCmouse via Amazon Appstore
If you set up your child's account on a Kindle Fire or signed up through the Amazon Appstore, you must manage the subscription through your Amazon account.
Go to your Amazon subscriptions
Navigate to the "Your Memberships and Subscriptions" page on the Amazon website, or open the Amazon Appstore app on your device.
Find ABCmouse
Locate the ABCmouse entry and click "Manage Subscription."
Turn off automatic renewal
Follow the prompts to turn off auto-renewal or end the subscription.
Cancel ABCmouse Classic
If you have an older ABCmouse Classic subscription, the process is different. You can no longer cancel this membership from inside the app or through the website settings.
Deleting the app from your device will not stop your automatic billing cycles. You must follow the steps below to cancel ABCmouse Classic.
To cancel an ABCmouse Classic subscription billed directly, you must contact ABCmouse Customer Care. Use the chat tool on their support website or submit a request through their official Contact Us page. Let the representative know you want to cancel your Classic membership and provide them with your registered email address. Your subscription remains active until a support agent processes your request.
ABCmouse Refund Policy and Access Period
Before you cancel, keep these important billing terms in mind:
- No Refund Policy: All ABCmouse subscription charges are final and non-refundable. The company does not offer full or prorated refunds for any prepaid subscription terms, even if you cancel immediately after a renewal charge.
- Continued Access: Canceling your subscription stops future renewal charges. Your child will retain full premium access to the learning platform until the end of your current paid billing period.
- App Deletion: Simply deleting or uninstalling the ABCmouse app from your tablet or phone does not cancel your membership. You must complete the formal cancellation steps to stop automatic payments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I pause my ABCmouse subscription instead of canceling?
Yes, but only if you have a monthly subscription billed directly by ABCmouse (Age of Learning). If you meet these conditions, you can choose to pause your subscription under "Manage My Account." Subscriptions billed through Apple, Google, or Amazon cannot be paused and must be canceled to stop charges.
What happens to my child's progress when I cancel?
Your child's learning history, tickets, and virtual items are saved in the ABCmouse database. If you decide to reactivate your membership later using the same parent email address, you can pick up exactly where your child left off.
